About
Mícheál Keating is a Limerick-based media artist working across sound, image, and text, to explore the politics of place and memory.
Raised on a dairy farm in West Limerick, he initially pursued music, releasing two critically acclaimed LPs with the art-rock band Bleeding Heart Pigeons (2008-2020), before establishing a media art practice.
Between 2022 and 2025 he developed Live Landscapes/Tírdhreacha Beo, a sustained, process-led engagement with rural landscapes supported by the Arts Council of Ireland and Limerick City and County Council, which resulted in a self-published book/album and a solo exhibition at Spacecraft, Limerick.
As a musician, he currently performs with improvised noise collective Péist, post-rock band The Low Field and singer/songwriter Laura Duff. He is also active as a music producer, media art technician, and festival organiser with Féile na Gréine.
