About

Mícheál Keating is an emerging musician and media artist from Limerick, Ireland. Led by voice and electronics, his compositions, improvisations, and performances inhabit expanded forms that incorporate field recording, software programming, text, lens-based and found media. He synthesizes these modes in evocative work that elucidates processes of change in rural Limerick landscape, and examines relations between human life, technology, capitalism, and land. He is currently Artist-in-Residence at Ormston House, Limerick.

Keating has released 2 critically acclaimed LPs as singer/songwriter/producer of the art-rock band Bleeding Heart Pigeons (2008-2020), and he currently performs with improvised noise collective Péist, post-rock band The Low Field and singer/songwriter Laura Duff. He is also active as a freelance music producer, media art tech, and festival organiser with Féile na Gréine.
